Food Pantry take-home packages of raw groceries are distributed on weekdays by appointment only. Each family may receive one package per week.
General Information & Do’s and Don’ts for Pantry Service
- Open to all: Anyone can receive free groceries. No identification is required.
- Sign-up process: Food is reserved through our digital appointment system, the Plentiful app. It will request standard information, including your cellphone number, first name, last name, date of birth, and family size. Click here to learn more about the app
- Language support: The app operates in 10 languages. Our staff and volunteers do not. If needed, please bring someone to assist you.
- Arrival: Appointments are usually in 5-minute windows. A few people may share the same slot - please wait patiently and respectfully in line.
- Punctuality: Do not arrive before your scheduled time. We have limited waiting space. Even if there is no one there, we will not serve you if you are there outside of your appointment time.
- Conduct: Disorderly conduct will not be tolerated and can get you banned.
- Neighborhood courtesy: No loitering before or after service - not in front, nearby, down the block, or across the street from our facility.
- Groceries provided: Items vary by availability but aim to balance protein, grain, fruits, and vegetables.
- Kosher policy: All food is kosher. Some items have certification symbols; others, such as fresh produce, are kosher by default. All are approved by the OU. For special kosher needs, speak to the Mashgiach/kosher supervisor on site.
- Bags & carts: Please bring your own bags (we do not regularly provide them). A small cart is recommended. (The facility is street-level. There are no steps.)
- Organizing groceries: Please organize your groceries inside the facility, not outside.
- First-time clients: Staff may allow some leniency for first-time visitors.
- Family verification: Bringing your children may increase the amount of food you receive. You can also have your family size verified so you won’t need to bring them again.
- Pick-up representative: We do not require ID, so anyone who arrives with your appointment details will be assumed to be the person with the appointment. They would not know your name and time unless you gave it to them.
- Designating a representative: No one can use their own identity to claim more than one appointment. For this reason, we recommend designating an official pick-up representative in your profile on the Plentiful app.
